jim serwer is an independent software consultant working in silicon valley (san jose area), california.
jim serwer has been a software developer for over 30 years. his experience goes back to the days of punched paper tape, punched cards, and nine-track tape. his very first program consisted of 12 sexadecimal instructions, written without benefit of an assembler or compiler, and keyed directly to punched paper tape.
over the years jim has worked with a wide variety of languages, operating systems, and disciplines. the disciplines have included scientific programming, accounting, embedded software, systems programming, device drivers and user applications.
since 1993, the majority of work has been for microsoft windows. languages include c/c++, visual basic, java, perl and assembler.
besides signetsure, jim also recently completed vxd and winnt device drivers. these drivers insert themselves in the network stack in such a way that they can examine all network traffic in both directions. and they can report their findings to a companion application program. (similar technology is used in personal firewalls and web filters.)
jim also created all aspects of this web site. this is why the site is so devoid of snazzy graphics, but the cgi/perl scripts work great.
jim has a b.s. degree in physics, an m.s. degree in mathematics, and an mba in finance.
you can contact jim either by using the feedback page on this web site, or by calling 408-985-6615. but please, no junk mail, no spam and no junk calls.
